A Message from Headmaster McQuarrie
Regarding the School Lunch & Breakfast Program—No Charge
Dear Erskine Students and Families,
We are pleased to inform you that due to the continuing pandemic, our school qualifies for the Maine Department of Education’s “Extended Summer Feeding Program.” By participating in this program, all Erskine students, regardless of their circumstances, are qualified for the breakfast and lunch tray meal from our cafeteria at no charge to them. This program will continue while funding lasts, which is projected to take us through December, at least.
In addition to the provisions made for tray meals, our cafeteria will continue to make ala cart items such as drinks, chips, ice cream, etc., available for purchase.
During remote learning days, Erskine Academy students may still access these meals either by coming to the school during our scheduled breakfast and lunch periods OR they may contact their elementary/middle school for these meals as all of our sending towns are participants in the Extended Summer Feeding Program. Meals provided by these schools are boxed or bagged for pick up at the school. To access these meals, please call your town’s elementary/middle school in advance. Please direct your questions concerning Erskine’s program to Food Service Director Stacy Boudreau at 445-2962 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
It is critical to this program that all of our families complete the Application for Free and Reduced Breakfast and Lunch form sent home with other opening-of-school paperwork. Information provided will also be used to qualify students for free and reduced lunch when the Extended Summer Feeding program ends. Therefore, at your earliest, please complete and return the form regardless of your current finances; your financial information will be kept confidential.
We are grateful for our inclusion in this program to better serve our families, and we appreciate your continued support.
