To meet its mission to realize the educational and career potential and goals of its students, Erskine Academy presents a comprehensive range of courses and preparation programs from special education to Advanced Placement.

It is widely acknowledged that the demands of school and adult life have changed significantly in the last half of the decade. Given the rapid rate by which knowledge is being created, skills are being demanded, and work is changing, it is essential that the school provides learning experiences that well equips young people for the future. A school that works well in so many ways, Erskine Academy endeavors to be an even more excellent school by continuing to develop its course offerings so that they are not only current but also suitable for the demands of the future.

Despite the current wave of change in American schools, the basic mission of the high school remains the same: provide an academic program and work with students and their families to keep as many post high school options open as possible. Most opportunities will cluster around college and university study, technical and community college, military service, specialized training to learn a skill or trade, or direct entry to the workplace. No matter the option pursued, all will require young people who know how to learn and are committed to continual learning. In a practical sense then, high school prepares young people for learning that will take place somewhere else-in the labor market or higher education.

So mindful is Erskine Academy about the work and education demands of the future, it has organized requirements and programs of study around three preparation programs. The completion of either the college preparatory, technical college preparatory, or the vocational preparatory program will facilitate student proficiency of the Maine Learning Results and enhance their competitiveness for higher education or marketability in the workplace.
